Kara Carreras '22 donned the T-shirt she herself designed when she and other members and supporters of LifeAct came together to bring light to the mental health issues currently affecting our world.
According to LifeAct, the event was "an evening gathering for students, educators, families, adults - anyone and everyone - who has been touched by suicide or who just wants to help break down the stigma associated with depression, suicide, and mental health."
Mental health is a topic that many have struggled with, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The October event focused very heavily on the stresses created by the pandemic.

Carreras thanks her professor Anne Cole for introducing her to the opportunity to design the shirt for LifeAct saying, "She has been a great influence with my success as an educator and super supportive with everything I've done this semester."
Carreras says she has a personal affinity for LifeAct's mission, and that made her involvement in the event even more meaningful.
