She previously served as director of teaching and learning in the Parma City Schools, where she had also served as an elementary school principal and elementary school teacher. Along the way, she completed her masters degree at BW.
In an interview with cleveland.com, Hausmann said, "To work in a district like Bay Village with such achievement and excellence is such an exciting opportunity to serve and to grow in my leadership."
Bay Village School Board President Steve Lee praised Hausmann's credentials. He said, "We believe Jodie can keep us on our path of excellence while meeting a variety of new challenges we face in the future. We are all very much looking forward to working with her."
