Washington attorney Agnes Dover named board chair at Baldwin Wallace University
Agnes P. Dover, senior counsel in the global law firm of Hogan Lovells, LLP, has been named chair of the Baldwin Wallace University Board of Trustees effective July 1. The term runs through June 30, 2023.
Dover joined what was then Hogan & Hartson in 1997 after serving the U.S. Department of Energy as deputy general counsel for procurement and technology transfer, advising the department's senior management on procurement and intellectual property issues.
Dover has gone on to practice law in the government contracts arena for more than 35 years, working with clients in the defense, energy, information technology and biotechnology industries.
A merger of the U.S.-based Hogan & Hartson and European-based Lovells created a top 10 global legal services firm, Hogan Lovells, in 2010. Dover currently serves as senior counsel in the firm's global regulatory practice group. She previously led the government regulatory practice group and served on its International Management Committee.
A 1976 magna cum laude graduate of BW, Dover earned her J.D. from Catholic University School of Law, where she served on the Law Review. She has published numerous articles and has served as an American Bar Association committee chair. A Cleveland native, Dover speaks fluent Hungarian.
"BW is excited that Agnes has stepped into this important leadership role at her alma mater," said BW President Bob Helmer. "The University has already benefited from her wise counsel, experienced insights and generous commitment to the success of every student as she has served as a member of the board. We are confident she will make a positive impact as chair."
Dover succeeds Charles E. Rotuno '86, president and CEO of OEConnection, who completed a distinguished three-year term as board chair on June 30.
