It's game-on for BW students to have fun, socialize this semester

Whether their end-goal is to break a sweat, socialize or both, there will be plenty of opportunities for students to achieve these goals this semester. BW has an exciting and diverse array of co-curricular activities and programs awaiting students that range from club and intramural sports to service projects to entertainment and more.

Student Life

As the fall semester unfolds, students will have a variety of ways to engage with peers and have fun. Students are encouraged to follow student life and other offices on social media to learn about exciting virtual and in-person events and engagement opportunities. Most co-curricular activities are also posted on the campus announcements and student bulletin sections of MyBW.

Recreation

Community- and skill-building are integral to BW's Campus Recreation department. Students can engage in a variety of wellness activities that promote fun, leadership and personal development.

Opportunities include rugby, racquetball, cheerleading, climbing, outdoor adventure, cycling, billiards, martial arts, archery, paddling and hiking. There also will be a variety of group fitness classes, outdoor leisure activities, backyard games and nature programming available.

The Lou Higgins Center will be open with health and sanitization protocols in place. Reservations will be required in some areas.

Service

Putting students at the heart of transformative learning and service opportunities is the mission of BW's Brain Center for Community Engagement. The center will offer and promote virtual volunteering opportunities, remote project-based community engagement projects and ongoing virtual events (such as its Civic LEAD series).

Ongoing initiatives, such as weekly service programs and alternative breaks, will be offered in a virtual format that will connect BW students with local and national community partners. In addition, several service-learning courses will be offered in the fall that include remote service engagement.
