BWcares: Extraordinary response to an unusual campaign
The BW community delivered an extraordinary response to BWcares, a "different kind of campaign" launched in the midst of pandemic uncertainty and need.
Over the course of nine short weeks, more than 1,000 generous donors contributed a newly finalized total of $541,509 to support BW students through the BW Annual Fund.
Among the magnanimous donors who opened their hearts and offered their resources to support BW students were 38 "BWcares Champions" who provided matching gifts totaling $175,000 to inspire and amplify the generosity of their fellow Yellow Jackets for Life.
Monetary support and more
The campaign also sought to engage the community in a variety of ways, from showing BW pride on social media to signing up as new alumni mentors in the Yellow Jackets Career Connections Network, powered by Wisr.
All in all, 187 new members signed up to support fellow and future alumni in their career journeys, exceeding the original goal of 175.
Amazing outpouring
"The BWcares campaign is an extraordinary example of the strength and importance of the community that surrounds Baldwin Wallace. It has been amazing to see the outpouring of generosity from our alumni, parents, friends and even students, resulting in a record success for the BW Annual Fund," said Agnes P.Dover, chair of the Baldwin Wallace Board of Trustees.
"Thank you to everyone who participated in this special initiative," Dover continued. "During very uncertain times, your support means so much."
