Miranda Creel '07 is among a select group of 2022 "YWCA Woman of Achievement Award" winners.
The BW business alumna is one of just eight Northeast Ohio women honored for their "extraordinary accomplishments through career success, community service, leadership, mentoring, and dedication to YWCA's mission of eliminating racism and empowering women."
In adding Creel to the Women of Achievement Academy, YWCA applauded her for demonstrating "power, personality, and perseverance."
PNC executive leadership and empowerment
Creel has forged a 37-year career at PNC bank, currently serving as executive vice president of commercial treasury sales. According to her awards bio, she leads a team of 150 professionals across the country "to help companies manage their working capital more efficiently and effectively."
The awards committee applauded Creel for her leadership in "expanding professional development opportunities for women and people of color," including the establishment of PNC's first-ever employee resource group in Cleveland, which now serves more than 400 members.
Creel, who also serves on PNC's Corporate Diversity Council and chaired the company's 2022 United Way campaign, has noted that the most valuable piece of advice she ever received from a mentor was to "follow your passion, do what you love to do, and the success will follow."
Dani Neumann '14, MBA '15 - Crain's 20 in their Twenties
Dani Neumann '14, MBA '15, who earned a bachelor's degree in communications and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from BW, was named to the prestigious Crain's Cleveland Business list of up-and-coming young professionals, "20 in their Twenties."
Neumann has been at Sherwin-Williams Co. for nine years, starting as a college intern and moving up to exterior woodcare product marketing manager in the company's consumer brands group.
Work that shines
Neumann's work, which she describes as "very gratifying," is known to impress social media influencers, especially when she makes a splash with new product launches like metallic aerosol paint and new colors of Krylon Glitter Blast.
She also spent 2021 leading Sherwin-Williams' women's club. Crain's noted that the group's mix of philanthropy, camaraderie and professional development "appeal to Neumann's desire to help others and her drive to achieve."
"It is only a matter of time before she holds a vice president position," Neumann's boss told Crain's in supporting her nomination for the award. "To say that she is a future leader within the company would be inaccurate, as she is clearly a leader now that is driving growth and positive change."
