BW art exhibition hits the road

The Fawick Gallery exhibition "A Big Relief" has been invited to the Gallery at Moreland Courts at Shaker Square.

A collection of large-scale woodblock prints created by Baldwin Wallace University students, alumni and faculty is hitting the road. "A Big Relief," which ran Nov. 11 - Dec. 2 in BW's Fawick Gallery, will open at Moreland Courts with a private reception on Jan. 26.

At the invitation of gallery curator Lee Heinen and artist Jennifer Leach, the Moreland Courts show will include selected woodblock prints from the BIG INK workshop held in BW's studio art department in November, under the supervision of professor Paul Jacklitch. BIG INK travels the country to museums, universities, art centers and galleries, teaching and promoting awareness of large-scale woodblock printmaking.

The show features works by faculty members Jacklitch, Ben Lambert, Erica Lull and Lisa Schonberg (retired); BW alumni Rich Cihlar (also BW staff member), Amanda Dilisi and Jeanne DeBonis; and BW students Ashley Jones, Nicole Ballachino, Claire Bond, Chloe Burton, Rachel McElwain, Jaden Rohfeld, Max Carrier and Sarah Castrigano.

The exhibition runs through March 31 by appointment. Those interested in viewing the exhibition after the opening can email BW associate professor Darlene Michitsch at dmichits@bw.edu or artist Jennifer Leach at jrdleach@gmail.com for details.
